Machh Massacre Victim: “An Inhuman Act of Terrorism”

The beginning of 2021 was terrible. Corona cases are increasing day by day and the economical condition of the common man is very bad. In this critical condition, an insane case happened on January 3, 2021, in Machh, Balochistan. In the province of Pakistan, “Baluchistan” Islamic State Militants killed 11 Hazara coal miners. All 11 miners were kidnapped and blindfolded before having their throats slits.

Islamic State Militants

It is the branch of activist Islamist group Islamic State of Iraq and Levant. The group formed in January 2015. Its main activity is in the area of the border region of Northern Pakistan and Eastern Afghanistan. Mourned families of dead miners belong to the Shia Hazara community. Mourners’ reaction is very forceful as they hold a sit-in near Quetta on Monday with the coffins of their beloved ones.

Minister visits 

The weather condition in Quetta is extremely harsh, and the temperature is -8 0C. The mourners did not agree to leave the western bypass area close to Hazara town. Their demand is to arrest the attackers and forcing out the provincial government. Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed visited the grieving community to condole them. He told them that their all demands will be accepted by the government except the resignation of the provincial government. He requested them to call off their protest and the bodies should be laid to rest. Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen president Syed Agha Raza is leading the protestors. The government announced to pay Rs 2.5 million to each family and bodies will not be buried until demands fulfilled.

PML-N leader Marriam Nawaz will arrive in Quetta with senior leaders. Bilawal Bhutto, Murad Ali Shah, and a Delegation of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam will leave for Quetta today.  Prime Minister of Pakistan has taken action of this incident and publicly declares the murders “an Inhuman Act of Terrorism”. He ordered the law enforcement agency to investigate the incident and bring the grievers to justice.
