Miscellaneous

The word “Miscellaneous” carries so many connotations that are like varied, assorted, mixed, diverse, sundry, a range of so many different aspects of things that are put under one heading with this denomination which explains it all and yet leaves it in an abstract form. This is a convenient word to describe things that do not fit under any particular specification and is used often as a stop gap description.

Companies find this an easy area to put some of their expenses under when the expense cannot be categorized. The annual accounts that are submitted also have such a category which is pretty legitimate and accepted. There are miscellaneous directories, dictionaries, items, books, foods, and so on and so forth.

Miscellaneous is an adjective that consists of elements of various kinds or mixed characters. It describes things that have various subjects, aspects or qualities and puts them under one heading. Bringing together various forms of subjects and allowing the imagination to think of what the possibilities might be or mean.
