A retailer’s efforts towards customer satisfaction
In our daily walks of life, we all have come across a retailer. He is a merchant who purchases goods from a manufacturer or a wholesaler and sells it to us. We are the end users to whom the retailer is making the resale. The retailers are the last point of a supply chain. The manufacturing companies take the help of the retailers for
distribution of their products or goods. The retail firm is known as a store or a shop.
There are numerous types of retailers. A retailer may be selling items like stationery, grocery, hardware, hosiery, boutique,
electronics, liquor, medicines, and so on. We all need to procure various required items for our living and reaching a retailer for the
same becomes unavoidable. A retailer may have his shop or establishment located in shopping or
residential streets and also in shopping malls. The retailer gives his best effort to attract customers by choosing a location convenient to
the customers.
In today’s buyer’s market, the retailer gives his best effort to offer “the best price” in his store. Mostly the retailers follow the mark-up
pricing, i.e. cost plus margin equals to price offered to the customer. Retail pricing is also prevalent in many instances where the
manufacturer prints the suggested price on the product, which the retailer is selling.
A retailer for his livelihood and goodwill offers the best of the products, customer satisfaction, and good pricing to ensure maximum
footfalls in his store.
